Hi, I’m Stig Severinsen.
I have been called the Ice Guru by Men’s Journal. Some of my other names are the Man Who Doesn’t Breathe and the Human Dolphin.
With four Freediving World Championship titles and multiple Guinness Book World Records to his name, people often fail to describe my chilly feats in words.
Some of my arctic accomplishments…

Just recently, I stepped on the iconic red dot to speak at TEDxOdense. The topic of this memorable event was the “Edge of Brilliance”.
My extreme escapades in the freezing cold captivated and inspired the audience. I don’t consider my exploits extreme. You want to know why?
Because I am aware of the risks, have made preparations and have decades of experience. That is why my speech did not just focus on the historic ice dive that broke records.

Relaxation is Key
When you dive deep into freezing water, mindset is everything. If I lose my calm, the pain from the ice cold water becomes unbearable. I will drown.
That is why I regulate my heart and mind through my breathing. I call this Relax on Demand.
Through conscious breathing and breath holding I can drop my heart rate from over 90 bpm to 36 bpm and under.
The wonderful thing is that you can learn this too. The Breatheology Method teaches you how to control your physiology through our breath.
