Fast forward to 2017
In 2017, Jeff shared his reflection on his progress since the workshop in the Breatheology Student Community:
I’m Jeff and I live in Hawaii.
I attended the first Breatheology PTSD liberation workshop in La Jolla, CA in November of 2015. I am a U.S. Army combat veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.
I became a freediving instructor 6 months prior to this event and that is where I first realized that breathing was relaxing and useful in everyday applications, not just diving.
I signed up for Stig’s three day workshop and it changed my life.
I struggled for years with chronic anxiety, depression, flashbacks of traumatic events, memory blocks/loss, sleep problems, etc….(the list goes on). Anyways, after the three day workshop, I was truly able to understand some of the magical benefits of breathing correctly, meditation and mindfulness with the help of Stig’s guidance. I was able to remember childhood memories that were clouded by the PTSD and I was able to have dreams again after just THREE DAYS OF CORRECT BREATHING! (Info: Sometimes the brain will completely block/shut these things off, but there is hope, Just breathe!!).
Since then, I have tried my best to practice techniques as often as possible and live a healthier lifestyle. I am truly thankful for Stig and what he is accomplishing with Breatheology. I have also been able to make myself better, one breath at a time, and complete my BSBA-Management degree with honors! I was also able to find my true passion and am currently enrolled in duel graduate degree programs of MBA & MSW w/ Military and Veteran concentration.
My plan is to help military members & veterans, who struggle much like myself, realize the great potential that breathing, meditation and mindfulness can have on them and not let PTSD/Anxiety/Depression take control and ruin their lives.
I look forward to, once again, learning from Stig and furthering my knowledge and understanding of breathing.
